Fishing overall was very good, with even more effort and
less lazing around could have caught more ;)

Fished mainly from (9-10 am to 9-10pm)
If we had night fished im sure the catch rate would have
been double what it ended up. (loved my bed too much)
Tactics:
Mainline cell 15mm and 18mm mixed with cell pellets for
baiting up, the business end was chopped down 18mm and cell
pellet Shape boilies glugged in the dip. |

Were the facilities what you expected? |
More than happy and always lovely and
cool to come back to on those hot evenings, of which there
was plenty.
The lure of comfy sofa's and cold beer after 10pm was enough
to drag us in each night.

Already did in the tackle shop when i
got back to work on the sunday.

General comments: |
As said before craig and caroline are
great hosts and im told by the two ladys in the party that
the beauty treatments/massages that caroline provides for a
reasonable fee are just what the holiday doctor ordered.
Thanks again to caroline and craig for what has been the
best french trip ive been on so far.
Look forward to booking up in the near future.

We've been taking fishing holidays
for over 5 years now and the Retreat
has to be one of the best gites we've stayed in. Large
living room,
english satellite TV, play areas for kids and adults - top
notch.

General comments: |
Craig & Caroline are great hosts
and do everything to make sure you have a
great holiday, while never being intrusive they are always
around if you
need them. Caroline's beauty treatments are a must so I'm
told and the
fishing was not too difficult. We only fished from 10am to
7pm for 4 or 5
days and still caught fish ( even while barbecuing and
entertaining our 2
year old on the bank). A good time had by all and a great
venue for a
family friendly fishing holiday.

Pre-baiting areas around the island and willows with
pellet/particle mix
proved effective. Mornings and evenings particularly
productive.

Accommodation and facilities were
first class. Almost too much space for just the 2 of us.
Kitchen was well equipped and BBQ was used every night.
Sky TV a real bonus!

Had my best ever haul, hard fishing at
times but well worth the wait. Had a really great time and
won the bragging rites with my two mates (or helpers as now

condition.

This is my second visit. I came with the lads earlier in the
year and came back with the family for the new year. That
should say it all.

pellet working especially well as a hook bait. The method

Craig and Caroline were everything you could hope for in a
host. Cooking was first class and Craigs help and advice was
superb. They made us feel welcome from the off and nothing
was too much trouble. They went that extra mile to make this
holiday perfect |

Not the biggest of catches maybe - but we didn't fish every
day. The fishing was very enjoyable

Boilies over particle and pellet ground bait. The method
feeder worked well. |

The
facilities were much better than anyone could have expected
- lake and gite. |

Were you happy with them? |
Very - the
gite was incredibly well equipped and the lake was
beautiful.Caroline and Craig are excellent hosts. We were
also able to get out sightseeing and the area itself is
typically French with several lovely towns within travelling
distance |

Yes - we are
already reecommending The Retreat to other fishermen.

Fantastic - for the angler and the non angler both. Highly
recommended.We didn't have children with us but the
facilities for children were wonderful. Top quality toys and
equipment for them and even DVD and video players to keep
teenagers happy! Everyone catered for. |
